Every Child Matters
In Every Child Matters the government made a commitment to produce clear guidance for all children's services practitioners on information sharing.
An Information Sharing Practitioners' Guide has been produced collaboratively by the Department for Education and Skills, Department of Health, Home Office, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Department of Constitutional Affairs, and Youth Justice Board. See this and other matters at:

A Toolkit for Data (Information) Sharing
This Toolkit, issued by the Information Rights Division of the Department for Constitutional Affairs is aimed at service providers, such as local authority and other public sector employees, who have to grapple with data (information) sharing issues. It provides comprehensive, up to date, information and guidance on information sharing best practice. It also provides information and links to current practices developed by a broad range of public service providers. See this and other matters at:

The Hampshire Children's Fund
Supports children aged 5-13 years and their Families & Carers. It is part of an early prevention strategy working with the government programme Sure Start as well as with Connexions Southampton Partnership.
The fund has been spent by “Local Partnership Groups” who have involved Children & Young People in setting up and delivering their own services. One initiative is The Information Sharing Project – resulting in information and resources being made available online. See this and other matters at:

The Youth Justices Board (YJB) Practitioners Portal
Details how local authorities, police authorities, health authorities and others need to be able to share personal data (information) in order to comply with their statutory duties to work together in support of young people at risk of future involvement in criminality.
The YJB publication, Personal and Sensitive Personal Information-Sharing on Children and Young People at Risk of Offending: A Practical Guide is the primary source of information sharing guidance for youth justice practitioners and encourages the development of multi-agency protocols on the exchange of personal data.
